“Bloodlust” is a new thriller from Gabriel Maitreya  that is filled with sex and violence. It looks at a gay man’s descent into gay S&M experimentation after he goes through a nasty breakup with his girlfriend. Cruising the internet, Paul falls victim to a sexual predator. Paul is an amateur cage-fighter but he loses his strength when his girlfriend dumps him. To make matters worse, Paul and his ex work at the same place. Paul finds no solace with his best friend who is both verbally and physically abusive with him and his frustration while fighting in the cage seems to test his strength and endurance. He loses the difference between sex and violence and he starts experimenting with gay sadomasochism. Using the internet as a way to meet people or sex, he meets and falls victim to a sexual predator who goes into online dating sites and then lures his victims to meet him deep in the woods and Paul finds himself running and chased through the woods and at the mercy of Mother Nature.

Maitreya creates an atmosphere that resembles the classic giallo horror films of the 70’s and 80’s in his film that blurs the line between sex and violence. The movie that starts as a thriller turns into a horror film that is visually entertaining.
