“COME ON FEEL THE NOIZE: THE STORY OF HOW ROCK BECAME METAL”
Heavy Metal and Hard Rock History
“Come on Feel the Noize” looks at when the beat became Rock and Metal became an exciting time; how it all came and what became of it. It tries to clarify these points with the key stars in rock history including the Byrds, Jimi Hendrix, Led Zeppelin, Deep Purple, The Who and The Rolling Stones.
Film director Jörg Sonntag speaks with music legends such as Mick Box (Uriah Heep), Roger Glover (Deep Purple) and Jimmy Page (Led Zeppelin). Ozzy Osbourne (Black Sabbath). They seem to say that the musicians were angry young men.
We hear the new ideas of very creative artists like Jimmy Page who invented the “distortion box” for the guitar that without which the sound of Jimi Hendrix would hardly have been created.
Heavy Metal and Hard Rock are since the late 60s, the dominant, commercially successful variant of rock music. For a few, they are a billion dollar business, but for many they are lifestyle and passion. The film documents in detail, including interviews with the stars of the international scene and with concert excerpts, how mid-70s developed from the hard rock of heavy metal.
We see the evolution of rock from Deep Purple, Led Zeppelin and Black Sabbath in the late ’60s to glam rock in the’ 70s and the New Wave From British Heavy Metal “in the 80s to today’s metal bands.
Of course, “Cum On Feel The Noize” also has something to listen to. The film is a journey through time with important protagonists of the respective era – and a must for real music fans.
